How is credit card interest calculated?
Many credit card issuers use a daily periodic rate. This calculator estimates it as APR divided by 365, then applies it to your balance. Your actual issuer may use a different method.
What is a minimum payment?
A minimum payment is the smallest amount your card issuer requires. Issuers use different formulas, so this tool estimates it as monthly interest plus 1% of the balance, with a $25 floor.
What is APR?
APR is the annual percentage rate on your card. A higher APR means carrying a balance costs more over time. Paying more than the minimum can reduce both your payoff time and total interest.
